text printout from LibreOffice is garbled in new Lubuntu 20.04 install, Featherpad printout is ok

in flag

My HP printer gives a PCL XL error when LibreOffice 6.4.7.2 sends spreadsheet documents to it from this Virtualbox computer running Lubuntu 20.04. Other programs in that same computer produce correct text and graphics. The localhost print server when in troubleshooting mode does not see the error. So far I have not found the exact point where things go south. I also have a Xerox network printer which produces strange printouts where most text is missing, incorrect or severely cut off characters when printed from the same LibreCalc document. I can compare most details to another computer running Ubuntu 20.04 and has the same version of LibreOffice which prints correctly. They are both printing with the localhost server using postscript language and I have run out of ideas of places to look for this problem.

I'll suggest scanning https://discourse.lubuntu.me/t/printing-problem-with-20-04/964 and even https://discourse.lubuntu.me/t/printing-problems-with-libreoffice-in-lubuntu-20-04-1-and-20-10-beta/1610 with the *fix* (or *workaround*) mentioned in the first working for both. It's an issue with a Qt5 *lib* used by LibreOffice with 20.04 (but only occurs on Qt5 environments like KDE, LXQt.. ; but not GNOME, MATE, Xfce etc)

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
