Ubuntu 21.04 Nvidia HDMI Intermittent audio

cn flag

The issue

My audio cutting out intermittently for ~1s every couple of seconds.

My connection is from laptop -> Monitor HDMI -> earphones. I don't have the skipping issue if I'm connect laptop -> earphone directly.

The skipping can be triggered if I open a browser tab/ load a webpage/click on something/typing etc.

My nvidia card is a Nvidia T1200, with driver 510.47.03

What I've tried

  1. I've tried the suggestion in this audio-via-nvidia-hdmi-skipping , but didn't work :(
  2. tried to restart pulseaudio service
  3. I've verified that it's not an equipment issue. Everything works fine on a different windows laptop.
  4. I've tried to reinstall the nvidia driver. Tried both nvidia-driver-493 and nvidia-driver-510

Ubuntu 21.04 (along with all flavors) is *End-of-Life* and thus unsupported on this site (https://askubuntu.com/help/on-topic), and many other Ubuntu sites, unless your question is specific to moving to a supported release of Ubuntu. https://fridge.ubuntu.com/2022/01/21/ubuntu-21-04-hirsute-hippo-end-of-life-reached-on-january-20-2022/ https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EOLUpgrades

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
