I'm trying to install nextcloud (with a reverse proxy (nginx)) in ubuntu server 20.04 and I have some issues (concerning ips and redirects)

in flag

Okey so, basically, I already installed nextcloud a couple of times I managed to make it work locally and there's no problem with that, I even tried it in other server configs like with truenas and I made it work.

However, I finally decided to use ubuntu server in my machine and I'm tring to use NextCloud as a "nas" or a personal cloud that I can access from wherever I want, I even purchased a domain in ovh.

So my main concers are:

  • I know that I should be able to configure several ips from the same interface, (from here) but I really don't know how could I make Nextcloud use the ip that I want. Also i'd like to set a 3rd IP for nginx (running trough docker or something or just in the bare ubuntu server, but I don't know how to proceed honestly).
  • I'm not sure if I should use nginx or another reverse proxy, I just want it to be kinda secure not just be open to everyone to access, so i'm open to suggestions of what may be best.
  • Also everytime I managed to install and make nextcloud work I struggled with the max_upload_filesize since locally there's no problem with that I'd like to be able to upload large files also trough the internet. (but everytime I got to that step the .conf files were just too much for me and I never could find the right one to change since there's the php the nextcloud and the proxy one)

To sum up, I'm trying to search for different guides that can solve all or any of my issues with this installation since it has became personal at this point and I want to make it work.

I'm open to ANY help that you guys may offer, thanks in advance and sorry if I mispelled something, english is not my native language.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
