Screen flicker on 'Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 1'

cn flag

Whenever I close the display and open it back up, the screen starts to flicker. It doesn't go away, and the only way I know to get back to normal screen is to restart the machine. I have tried lightdm, and gnome both acted similarly.

Here is a screenshot: image1 image2

System config:
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS
Release: 22.04
Codename: jammy

Desktop env:
lightdm

Desktop resolution:

Fractional scaling: Disabled

EDIT: I uninstalled Ubuntu and installed Fedora. The flicker is gone! I now have to deal with other issues related to packages which isn't ideal either.

try to set grub like this:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="acpi_osi=! "acpi_osi=Windows 2015""

run update-grub and reboot

windows 2015 = windows 10

see on the net, may be archwiki how to get your acpi_osi SO support, mine is "Windows 20015", as i mention.

I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
