Why any style of any font is rendering?

lt flag

I was installing a font family and then I realized that there is no change when I go for example from regular to bold style, even with the default Ubuntu font family, I can see the changes going from one font to another (screenshots below), but no between its variants (thin, regular, medium, bold, italic, etc.). I let you some screenshot so you can see what I mean

using default Ubuntu regular style

using thin Roboto font style

using Roboto bold italic style

As you can see, when I switch from Roboto thin to Roboto bold italic there is no change. I have Dracula theme installed but the problem is reproducible with the default Yaru theme as well.

I'm using Gnome shell 42.5 besides Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS

Thanks for your help.

Maybe you need to relogin or reboot to see the effect?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
