Dell Inspiron not starting after installing Ububtu 18.04

cn flag

Installed Ubuntu 18.04 LTS on Dell Inspiron (old laptop) and the laptop will not boot unless using a USB Drive. Tried the boot repair but not working.

Link to Boot repair autofix https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/bJPkm3cCqX/

Added the boot option as the auto fix suggests and it is top option to boot with secure boot turned off.

It says "Checking for media" and "No boot device found Press any key to reboot the machine".

What model Dell? If 2018 or newer you need a newer version of Ubuntu. You have UEFI install. So is system set to boot in UEFI boot mode? Can you directly boot from UEFI boot menu? Can you press Escape right after Dell logo to get grub menu? And boot recovery mode. System did promote flash drive to sda, making install on sdb. Sometimes that confuses things as system without flash drive is hd0, but install was to hd1. But all the UUIDs look correct, so should boot in UEFI mode. for most desktop installs, better not to have separate /boot partition. Some server type installs or LVM may need /boot

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
