Remmina caps lock key not working

in flag

I have two PCs both running Ubuntu 22.04. When I connect using Remmina from machine A to machine B, everything works perfectly. However, when I connect from B to A, the Caps Lock key has no effect. By this, I mean I can type "a", press Caps Lock, then type "a" again and it still appears as "a" instead of "A".

Some observations:

  1. This happens irrespective of protocol (i.e. the problem exists with both RDP and VNC).
  2. The Caps Lock key works ok on machine A when I use its own screen and keyboard.
  3. There is no keyboard mapping defined in Remmina's connection settings on either machine.
  4. If I connect from machine B to another machine (C), then it also works.

So it seems there is something strange on machine A, which causes it to ignore Caps Lock keystrokes sent through RDP or VNC. How can I find out what it is and fix it?

I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
