I am using xubuntu 22.04. I am trying to set this box up as a kodi box. The settings sound app show Dummy Output with no other option to select. The Configure tab shows 'No sound card detected'. This works in 20.04 out-of-the-box but does it not detect my network adapter, an Intel I225-V rev 3. It seems the older distros (mostly kernel 5.4.x) works the sound but not the ethernet and the newer distros (usually kernel 5.15.x) doesn't like the sound card but the ethernet works great. Libreelec uses 5.4.x kernel and the sound works fine but I have problems with the ethernet and wifi. So I know the sound can work. The details:

When I execute:
# aplay -D plughw:0,2 /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Right.wav
Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Right.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 48000 Hz, Mono
I get sound but otherwise no joy. Since I am using this as a kodi box I am specifically looking for hdmi audio. I have 3 sound servers running and a slew of sound modules loaded but no sound. What to do?
