Kubuntu freezes periodically, forcing power-button reboot. Every time - I've kept track and I do mean every - when I reboot I get a notification that updates are ready. I have it set up for automatic and offline updates. I'm going to switch to "manually" and see if it makes a difference, but have anyone else encountered this?

In any case, I have two PCs, and they both exhibit the same symptom: hard reboot (or instant log-out) then "Updates Available" after logging back in. And, yes, I believe both are using nvidia GPUs. I have tried to switch drivers but then the video on both PCs is distorted past readability and renders the PC unusable, requiring a reboot from USB so that I can restore the driver to its previous state.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
