Touchpad on Lenovo 300e 2nd gen not working (Ubuntu 22.04 LTS)

ao flag

I feel like I've tried everything and I'm at a loss. Seems to work completely fine on Windows, doesn't work on Ubuntu.

Keyboard and touchscreen work, mouse cursor is also present. Also, nothing shows up in Settings > Mouse & Touchpad.

I ran "xinput list" and this was the output:

Virtual core pointer
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer
⎜ ↳ ELAN238E:00 04F3:2DB5

Tried updating firmware.

Tried a kernel rollback (someone suggested 5.15)

Tried editing /etc/default/grub and adding "i8042.nopnp=1 pci=nocrs" to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT

Someone suggested this command: gsettings org.gnome.desktop.peripherals.touchpad send-events

Nothing has worked.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
