Firefox slow to respond/no network after unlocking xubuntu 22.10

ng flag

I recently enabled my xubuntu lock screen with light-locker (not xscreensaver or xfce4-screensaver). I notice that after unlocking, an email website I leave open in Firefox initially shows "No internet connection", the CPU almost immediately goes to 100% usage, and Firefox won't respond to any interaction for 5-30 seconds. After this time, the CPU usage goes back down and Firefox acts normally. During this time while Firefox is 'frozen', all other computer functions are normal, e.g., I can open the task manager to verify that Firefox is using up nearly all the CPU, I can use other applications that access the internet without issue.

Xubuntu 22.10 Kinetic, Firefox 110.0.1 snap for Ubuntu, light-locker 1.8.0

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
