USB-C to VGA adapter requires re-plugging after suspend

br flag

I'm having trouble with a USB-C to VGA+HDMI adapter on Ubuntu 22.04.

While the adapter HDMI port works fine, the VGA port works only until the computer goes into suspension mode. When this one is resumed, the monitor does not turn on, so I have to manually unplug and replug the adapter, or plug the HDMI port into it (which also turns on the VGA monitor). I tried to re-detect the monitor using the xrandr --auto command, and also reseting the USB by using the usbreset command, but none of this worked. Furthermore, in the second case, the command doesn't detect the device even though it is listed with lsusb.

Finally, I should also point out that I had the same problem when turning on the computer with the adapter already connected. However, I fixed it by disabling the "Always On USB" option from my Lenovo ThinkBook's BIOS.

My current kernel version is "5.19.0-35-generic" and the Graphics Controller is "TigerLake-LP GT2 [Iris Xe Graphics]". Does anyone have any suggestions for solving this problem? Thanks in advance!

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
