How to set rDNS record for ipv6 address block?
ru flag

Occasionally, I open a ticket at my VPS provider to let them create a rDNS record for me. Sometimes, I can find a page in my control panel to add the rDNS record myself. This is simple for ipv4 address. I just input an ip address and a domain name to create the rDNS record. I wonder how to add rDNS record for a block of ipv6 addresses such as a 2^64 address block. Do I have to add 2^64 rDNS records each ...

Storing complete emails including linked images

In short, I need to store emails in their entirety; not just the headers, text, and HTML, but also any images linked to in the content.

I currently have a mail server set up with Postfix and Dovecot. I use it to receive newsletter emails which are often image rich. I've found an issue whereby after a while, many of the links to the images become invalid, rendering the content useless. I'd like to ...

Debug a Nginx vhost as a reverse proxy for a Uvicorn Python API
in flag

I have a (Python, DRF-based) API, running as a Uvicorn service on port 8002 on a Debian server. It runs with no apparent issue, since when I do curl http://127.0.0.1:8002/videos/, I get the expected API response (I also have tested it when deployed on Heroku, with no issue).

I need to serve it publicly with Nginx, so I configured a new Nginx vhost as a reverse proxy as followed:

GKE node from new node pool gets 403 on artifact registry image

I have a gke cluster with two node pools.

By mistake I deleted an image from Artifact Registry and did a rollout that end with some pods in ImagePullBackOff (403 Forbidden). After creating back the image (via a Cloud Build build from git tag) I created a third node pool and deleted one of the pool that I had. Now the situation is that the pods in the old pool are able to download the image and the pods  ...

Through what mechanism(s) do cloud applications allow me to sign in with my organisation's AD credentials?

So for years, I've been able to go into my company office, sign in to my computer, and access "on-premises" company resources such as network fileshares and internal web applications using my 'logged-on identity' from my initial windows sign-in. Let's say for the sake of discussion that I understand how that works.

In more recent years, I've also been able to go into my company office, sign in to ...

How do I log to both console and log file with OpenSSH sshd?
mx flag

Due to some circumstances we need to log OpenSSH sshd output to console, but we would also want to be able to log it to file. This would be something like running sshd -e -E /path/to/file.log .... However, it seems as if -E is overriding, so if used, it will not log to console.

Is it possible to configure sshd to do both at the same time?

We have been working on a project to migrate a MySQL database from an on-premise Linux server to a Windows VM on Azure (IaaS). (There's a specific reason because of which we have gone with the IaaS option instead of the Azure MySQL PaaS offering).

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
