What is the proper way to use IIS to forward the REMOTE_USER header to Tomcat?
in flag

I am trying to set up SSO with IIS 10 and Tomcat 9. I want to use Windows Authentication in IIS and pass the authenticated username to Tomcat. I had this working with Tomcat 8.5, however after upgrading to Tomcat 9 I can't get the ISAPI_redirect.dll method to work.

Extensive searches have led to suggestions that ISAPI is not the way to go anymore. I attempted to use ARR, but since it forwards  ...

Connecting subdomain to a server as hostname

I have my website (mydomain.com) connected with a vps server and now I want to setup another server and use subdomain from main domain for hostname as well the nameservers (e.g. srv1.mydomain.com should point to new server, ns3.mydomain.com and ns4.mydomain.com new server nameservers). I have created both nameservers (ns3, ns4) and pointed to new server IP address on domain provider, and I think it does ...

How can I create aliases upon connection to a remote machine via ssh?

I frequently connect to ephemeral servers. I'd like to be able to set up some commonly-used aliases on those servers upon connection to them. I thought maybe I could create a bash function/alias which took the target machine's hostname as an argument, then did the following

  • open an ssh session to that server
  • copy a file of aliases I'd like to use on that server to the server and source them so th ...

How to install DB2 luw on docker swarm?
ke flag

There is docker image for DB2 luw provided by ibm.

Image name: ibm/DB2

But, it requires --privileged=true to be passed ,else it won't work or connect.

Getting permission denied error even though running as root.

Now the main problem, swarm doesn't support this privileged parameter.

How to deploy DB2 luw on swarm then?

file system requirements for postgresql and/or mysql

I'm currently tasked with making postgresql run in kubernetes in azure using a azureFile for storage.

There are numerous posts and github issues stating that postgresql cannot run with azureFile. The biggest show stopper is the permissions requirement for the data directory (for which there are some workarounds)

But even if I work around the permissions problem there's another - hard links. Some  ...

I'm working on an embedded system which will act as a server, the problem is the environment where it will run is so aggressive and it will suffer abrupt power interruptions. Is it at all possible to exclude an adapter from firewalld

Is it at all possible to exclude a network adapter from firewalld so it is not managed ?

I want to enable the firewalld service on a Oracle RAC cluster. It creates a 169.254.29.x IP on the private network and my assumption is that firewalld does not like it and it also creates virtual adapters and so far i have just seen recommendations to disable firewalld entirely.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
