ph flag

I'd like to know about OpenStack High Availability.
If the node (VM) mounts the file system and the VM is evacuated in case of failure and moved to another host, can the mounted file system be kept on another host?

Thank you!

local persistant volume & nodeAffinity

I am using local persistant volumes in my Kubernetes cluster, I have currently two worker nodes in my cluster(node1, node2). So while creating local Peristant Volume I have added node affinity with these nodes.

haproxy execution of lines after http-request deny line stopped or not?
id flag

I'm very much confused and unable to find the answer: what would cause to stop execution of config lines in haproxy or would all be executed and evaluated at the end?

I was under the impression that an if an conditional http-request deny [...] would trigger, it would stop execution right there, but then some examples don't make any sense.

Example (from haproxy docs):

frontend fe_main
   bind :80

i have reinstalled OpenStack with the newest version (Yoga) and all base modules. The system is running fine but the time between the creation of the volume and the startup ist very long with ~10 minutes. It's probably caused by the following message:

WireGuard: 2 client peers on the same server with Internet connection and port forwarding
de flag

Dear ServerFault community,

I have recently bought a home-server. I did not want to host any content on my office IP (1.1.1.1) and I, therefore, bought an OVH VPS with 4 IPs and created a WireGuard tunnel to use the VPS' IP as the homeserver IP.

OVH VPS also forwards all the ports to my homeserver.

I am currently using 2 of the 4 OVH VPS' IPs (2.2.2.2) and (3.3.3.3).

I created two WireGuard tunnels ...

Which process/script/application if squeezing my files every 5 minutes?
cn flag

I have a process executing every 5 minutes (precisely) which overwrites the content of a folder. It obviously synchronizes whith another (identified) folder, which means it completely replaces the content of the folder with content of the other folder. The kind of thing that rsync or unison do (which we both use).

I looked in the crontab, and after deactivating the only script executed every 5 mi ...

UDM Pro Site-to-Site VPN issues
in flag

I just got the UDM Pro and got to setting up the Site-to-Site VPN. Everything seems to work, but I'm unable to add all 3 redundant subnets that I've got set up in my AWS VPC.

It works fine with a one, but after adding another one, the first one breaks while the second one works.

Does anyone have experience with setting this up? What am I doing wrong?

This is how my current config looks like:

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
