Redirection for WP website
cn flag

We have a WP website in an EC2 instance. Over that, we have a CloudFront distribution which is serving the DNS requests. At times we face the website error - redirected too many times. While checking the server logs, we find that CF requests are given response as 301 by the server. Sometimes the website works, but gtmetrix.com fails saying Visiting the page has resulted in an endless chain of redirects. ...

Pipe command to docker container run via sshd
in flag

I'm setting up an environment for users to log in to a machine via ssh. When logging in a docker container is created on the fly and removed when the user logs out.

This works like a charm interactively but you can't send a command like ssh -p 222 [email protected] "echo bla" to it. All you get is a the input device is not a TTY

The current configuration is:

Reason for servers slow response time?
us flag

I'm running Apache 2 with PHP 7.4.29 servers on Ubuntu 20.04 on AWS using AWS load balancer and auto scaling group. The servers connect to other AWS resources such as dynamodb, RDS (mysql), memcache etc.. This is a stable production environment doing 10Ks/hits per min normally and works flawlessly. We recently had peaks of X3 normal traffic and the servers started to have slow response time.

Change container ports in Kubernetes in production

I have an nginx Dockerimage listening on some port as defined int its nginx.conf. That image is deployed as a workload in Kubernetes (GKE) and an ingress points to it. The image's port is - both as port and targetPort - set in the workload config Yaml file.

That set-up is running in a production environment.

Now I want to change the port, i.e. nginx should listen to a different port.

How do I do that wi ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
