First time using EC-2, and I have a hard time adding SSL, got stuck under CloudHSM, it won't connect to the IP, it's so complicated, 1000 steps using another 2 services, CloudHSM and AWS key manangement service.

Is there a simpler way to add ssl?

Now I have that vanity domain they have, is it possible to add a subdomain instead? And if the main domain has SSL, will it work on subdomain as well?

Hyper-v 2012R2 host looses connection to cluster storage
ki flag

We have a concerning issue with one of our 4 Hyper-V 2012R2 hosts. It looses connection to the clustered storage now and then and any VMs on that host naturally stops when this happens. After a restart of the host it works again for a while.

All our 4 hosts are connected to the same HP storage via a direct SAS cable. The issue first started after we ran failover cluster validation tool from Micro ...

Change certbot renewal configurations to another Let’s Encrypt-Account
sa flag

Using certbot 1.26.0.

Due to moving some certificate configurations to another server and creating new ones, I now have got two accounts. That was not intended and I think I don't need two accounts.

All renewal files (in /etc/letsencrypt/renewal) contain server = https://acme-v02.api.letsencrypt.org/directory and are all of the same kind (nginx configurations, where just the domain differs).

What are the risks in running single Zookeeper instance in production?
id flag

I'm considering using Zookeeper to manage shared configuration across multiple services that live on a single application server. Usage would be very low volume, mostly reads. My production system uses 2 VMs: one application server and one database server.

Zookeeper docs suggest that, in production, you want an ensemble of at least 3 instances.

I have two obvious options:

AWS Peering connection with ansible: "No route to host"
es flag

I have an EC2 instance in us-east-1 which would like to communicate with another instance in us-west-2.

VPC-East CIDR: 172.16.0.0/16

VPC-West CIDR: 172.17.0.0/16

The used subnets in these VPCs are 172.(16 or 17).0.0/24 correspondingly.

I've created a Peering Connection between the two regions VPC and maybe it would help so I allowed:

DirectAdmin Nginx Rewrite fix lost every day
jp flag

I'm struggling with Nginx configuration in DirectAdmin.

When I use the custom httpd config templates it does not save the changes, using template 2.

When I manually paste the following fix:

location / {
    try_files $uri $uri/ /index.php?q=$uri&$args;
}

It works for a while, but every day it gets lost.

It's really a nightmare because the fix is only valid for a day at most.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
