How to check if KVM nested virtualization is supported on ARM64 processor?
cn flag

I have a virtual machine running RHEL 8.5 on an ARM64 (aarch64) processor - Arm Neoverse N1.

Every tutorial I've found states looking at either /sys/module/kvm_amd or the /sys/module/kvm_intel folder to figure out whether nested virtualization is enabled, but my VM does not have any of those. There is however a /sys/module/kvm folder which I figured is the right folder.

But the file which is used  ...

GSSAPI Error: KDC has no support for encryption type on RHEL 8 joined to multi-domain AD forest
th flag

I have a simple MS ADDS multi-domain forest setup with a parent domain and one sub-domain. I joined a RHEL 8 server successfully to the sub-domain by using this official documentation. All OSs have been setup by using as much defaults as possible. I can successfully SSH into the RHEL server by using an AD account of the sub-domain. But when I try to use an account of the parent domain, the login fails. ...

Ubuntu VM SSH session crashes during a large unzip due to kauditd high CPU usage
wf flag

I am having issues with an Ubuntu 18.08 VM on Azure. The issue seems to occur when I am unzipping a large file with unzip. My SSH session crashes out with send disconnect: Broken pipe, and I can no longer SSH onto the machine until I restart it on the Azure console.

I have checked disk space and it appears to be fine, I think the issue is due to a CPU lockup that I discovered in diagnostic logs:

zfs: flush cache without exporting
ar flag

For testing I need zfs' cache to be cold.

I can flush caching from the pool by removing the cache disks, exporting and importing the pool. This gives the effect I want. But would really like not to export the pool.

Is there a less drastic way to achieve the same effect?

What I am looking for is the equivalent to:

echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches

which does what I want for ext4.

I can imagine either systemd would monitor the logfile, or I create a unix socket and use that as my logfile? This seems a common use ca ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
