Windows DHCP Server does not give correct IP
in flag

I have a Windows DHCP Server with many scopes, each one related with a VLAN, and I have a PC connected to a switchport. Then, I am changing the access VLAN on this switchport to see if the PC receives the IP address belonging to such VLAN, but the client always receives the same IP address regardless of the VLAN configured on the switchport. I have configured the DHCP relay on my firewall, and this part ...

Adopt IP of network connecting to without routing everything through the VPN
id flag

Is it possible with OpenVPN to adopt the IP of the network I'm connecting to, so to the outside it looks like I have the same IP instead of my own local one?

This could work when I route everything through the vpn with redirect-gateway def1 but is there a way without doing that? It really slows down speed overall and any other benefits of this aren't needed.

I just want the same IP for "whitelist ...

How do I host a private WinGet Repository on an on-premise server?
cn flag

I would like to use winget to manage applications in my company, and I would like to setup my own source on one of my on-premise windows servers.

I found a reference implementation which however seems to require using Azure / Cosmos DB which I don't want. I would like to have all of this in IIS / SQL Server, like you would with chocolatey

Is there any way to do so?

How to track down CPU usage, as top is not showing any details of this usage?
tv flag
MLH

I'm operating a VPS and the admin console shows constant 90%+ CPU usage even though there are no applications running as such. I attempted to track this down via top but it just increased the mystery as it shows 90+ CPU usage in its top-level summary, but no individual processes contributing to such usage. Please see the graphic below.

How to deploy terraform in another account of aws using gitlab?
kr flag

I have a gitlab runner configured in the aws ec2 instance.

For any aws deployments, we simply added the role to the ec2 instance.

But, our gitlab runner is configured in one aws account. And we need to apply aws terraform templates on a different account(not IAM, complete different root account).

How to give gitlab runner permission to this different aws account

How to simulate what happens inside the packet buffer of a simple switch?
ro flag

I'm debugging a case of UDP packets lost in a store-and-forward gigabit switch and I wanted to visualize what happens inside the switch to better understand the gist of the problem.

The scenario is simple - two bursty data streams come through 2 ports inside the switch and both want to leave it via a third port (common to both). So the switch needs to hold some data in the packet buffer for a whi ...

~90% error rate with Stripe webhooks, unpredictable response. Server issue?

I'm setting up Stripe webhooks for the first time. I've made hundreds of test requests and I've had an error rate of around 90%. It's unpredictable as to why the failures occur.

The failure responses on the Stripe dashboard are either:

Timed out connecting to remote host

or

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
