I have some hard drives (HDD & SSD) which have data, if we remove all the data drives, install windows server 2022 on a new drive and connect the data drives back to the server, would the drives be recognised by the new windows server version? or we would need to format all da ...

Propagate local time over NTP to LAN

I have synchronized my L3 switch to an external time server, this is working correctly. However I'm in Europe and we have CET/CEST switching and I get UTC from the configured time server. I did setup the timezone and the summer-time in my switch (shows the correct time when I use "show clock"), but my switch propagates the NTP (UTC) time towards my LAN. How to make squid proxy to accept self-signed certificate?

I have an use-case were I have to accept self-signed certificate in Squid. The endpoints are Kubernetes clusters using self-signed certificates. The clusters will be recreated on demand with different self-signed certificate and therefore the need to accept them with a regexp, preferred way, or globally for test purpose.

I have a simple problem: my DNS does not answer a reverse lookup of my public ip address (e.g. 11.22.33.44) correct ... it just answers SOA and NS (taken from SOA record), but no PTR (additional extra entry for NS also not working, but who cares).

We are not talking about a private net, so I don't have the option to just setup a reverse zone for 33.22.11 and add a PTR record for 44 ... (I tried locall ...

How to replace "via amazonses.com" with my apps branding "via example.com" for the email identities in AWS SES?
us flag

So in SES - there are two ways to verify identities as I can see:

  1. Email identities
  2. Domain identities

With domain identiies - it is easier to fix the "signed-by" and "mailed-by" headers in the outgoing mails. If the DKIM/SPF DNS records are set properly - it works well.

But with email identities - AWS SES adds something like "via amazonses.com". Now I am looking to fix this with my app's branding inst ...

Open LDAP Add Authorization Rules
jp flag

Good evening,

I have a question of understanding:

The users are already created in Open LDAP. Suppose I add authorization rules to the LDAP server via a script.

If I were to run this script again to add the rules again, what would happen on the LDAP server?

Should the rules be overwritten properly? Or can there be some problems.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
