URL Whitelisting within a Proxy for tableau-server on Linux(RHEL)
in flag

My company is trying to setup a tableau-server on a linux virtual machine (RHEL).

Now, the VMs we use, cannot access the internet, so, we have to specifically mention the endpoints to be whitelisted in a proxy which the VM will try to hit for this licensing/activation purposes.

So, we went through this official documentation:

Connect to internet through network connection inside network namespace without setting as a default route
ca flag

I need to do a setup like this (with Linux):

  • I want to have a network namespace (let's say weth_ns) with a network interface connected to internet (weth0)
  • I want to have a different network interface as a default route in the host namespace (eth0)
  • I want to somehow be able to use things like curl, with some kind of interface, to transparently use the network inside that namespace to connect to internet. ...

Multi gateway work with HAProxy and VPN?
ae flag

We have a situation where we will have two physical router gateways on the network, each connected to its own ISP. Due to business requirements, we cannot merge the two WANs onto a single router, thus two routers must exist.

We want our remote users be able to VPN in, via either WAN/Router, and be able to access the internal-web-server. With the diagram below, I know that the remote user will nee ...

WSGI overrides Apache auto-virtual hosts
ch flag

Using Apache2, I ran into this problem - WSGI overrides auto-virtual hosts. That is, example.com is running a Flask application, which is normal for me. But if I go to, say, foo.example.com, where there are other files, and also just index.html, then the same Flask application will appear again, and there will be no access to the files (error 404). How to separate WSGI from virtual hosts with files? Here ...

How do you mount a k8s service account token as an enviromnet variable?
ng flag

When you associate a service account to a pod, it gets mounted in the /var/run/secrets/kubernetes.io/ folder, but I don't see a way to add the secret as an environment variable. The issue is that setting up a reference in the pod to a service account's secret is not possible because the secret generated from service account has an auto generated name. So you can't use env.valueFrom.secretKeyRef  ...

Server network interface not working properly
th flag

I recently bought a ZT Openrack server from eBay (the seller mentioned it was a OCP server) planning to use it as a simple file server, and it arrived a few weeks ago. However, it appeared to not connect to the internet, and upon further inspection, the interface was not working.

A few things that I should mention first:

  • It has one SFP+ 10GB connection, and an Ethernet connection
  • Both the SFP+ and the Et ...

Why is member server not able to find domain controler on its site, showing events 2084 and 2085 in event viewer?

This is raised at a point where I need to uninstall Exchange 2010 from a member server after migrating to a newer server. Uninstall fails with error "Could not find any available Global Catalog in forest". Searched the event viewer and found a huge quantity of event ID 2084 and 2085.

Configuring a PTR record in domains.google for an SMTP server
in flag

I've found several threads related to this, but they are all very dated so I want to get some clarification.

I use an AWS ec2 instance with an elastic-ip, I've set up an SMTP (sendonly) mail-server using postfix on ubuntu 18.04, and I manage my DNS through domains.google. I'm setting up all my MX, SPF, dmarc/dkim records, but I'm confused in how I set up my PTR record.

When I select "PTR", it asks  ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
