Recovering data from a zpool with a missing device
cn flag

I have a zpool consisting of two mirrored drives, storing all my personal data. I wanted to add another mirror drive, since the other drives have been in use for several years now. Instead, I managed to cripple the pool and cannot import it any longer.

This was the original layout of the pool (called "vault") before I did anything:

I'm trying to set up response policy on my existing Bind9 server because I'd like to override some of my company public domain to redirect them to our private network ips.

I've followed this tutorial : https://www.linuxbabe.com/ubuntu/set-up-response-policy-zone-rpz-in-bind-resolver-on-debian-ubuntu

However, I'm getting this error for the two domains I'm trying to override :

Our company allocates 40MB space for profile storage on the server. A user has a file of 15MB in his Recycle Bin which was deleted from his Desktop. In the past few weeks this user noticed a message about his roaming profile not being loaded after signing in on his computer. After clearing the Recycle Bin and restarting the system the profile message is not shown.

Apologies for the question as I'm still learning AWS, currently I am exploring using a Private EC2 running Windows Server IIS to connect to a Database via Site-to-site VPN/VPC to a on-premise DC, aside from the Database connection/port, I'll allow access to RDP via the VPN.

However I wanted users to access the IIS HTTP and HTTPS from the public. what are steps or requirements to it, I've read tha ...

Can I configure Docker to manage resources in containerd's "k8s.io" namespace?

I had a Kubernetes cluster with Docker and recently migrate it to containerd, but I still want to use Docker to manage images and containers for Kubernetes because of some compatibility problems.

When using Docker as a runtime, Docker was able to load images so that Kubernetes can use it, and was able to list containers running as Kubernetes pods with docker ps command.

How does "physical Elastic Load Balancer" reach out to the "logical Kubernetes service"?
ph flag

I'm a newbie of Kubernetes and stuck by the network part.

Kubernetes documentation:

There are several ways to publish a service:

  • NodePort, exposes the Service on each Node's IP at a static port (the NodePort)
  • Load Balancer, Exposes the Service externally using a cloud provider's load balancer. NodePort and ClusterIP services, to which the external load balancer routes, are automatically created.

Why can't the GPUs communicate in a multi-GPU server?

This is a Dell PowerEdge r750xa server with 4 Nvidia A40 GPUs, intended for AI applications. While the GPUs work well individually, multi-GPU training jobs or indeed any multi-GPU computational workload fails where at least 2 GPUs have to exchange information, including the simpleIPC and the conjugateGradientMultiDeviceCG CUDA samples (the first one shows mismatching results, the second just hangs).

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
