I have 3 laptops setup through a high-end KVM switch.
I have 2 external 27 inch monitors, both at 1920 x 1080 (16:9).
I have a Lenovo P70 (Windows) and a Lenovo X1 Carbon (Ubuntu 20.4)
The P70 (Windows) laptop works perfectly.
But, the X1 Carbon (Ubuntu 20.4) has a problem with scaling and available screen resolutions.
On the X1 Carbon, I currently have both external monitors running at 1920 x 1080 resolution, scaled at 100%, and this is perfect for my needs.
But, the internal monitor does not have a 1920 x 1080 display option.
The smallest resolution currently configurable for the internal display is 2560 x 1440.
This resolution is just a tiny bit too small to work with comfortably.
I really need a 1920 x 1080 resolution available on the internal monitor.
The "Scale" option does not work.
All 3 monitors appear to have a "Scale" option, but when you scale one, it automatically scales all 3.
The scale option should work independently, based on the monitor selected for configuration.
If I scale the internal monitor so that everything is readable on it, it also scales the external monitors, to a size where a blind man could read them.
I either need to be able to scale independently between monitors, or I need a 1920 x 1080 resolution to be added to the drop-down list.
Can anyone help with either of these two issues?
I am assuming that there is a file somewhere, where the 1920 x 1080 resolution could be defined.
After all, this is Linux!
