How does Direct Rendering not make a chaos?

ng flag

With Direct Rendering each application is allowed to render itself. But how does this not cause chaos if each application can render itself whenever and wherever it wants? Shouldn't there be some centralized mechanism for rendering? I know that with X it is the only one that can touch the frame buffer but how does Direct Rendering work then?

Can someone explain this in simple terms?

this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct_Rendering_Manager should provide a bit of info on that.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
