Exteral display via dongle not detected

ck flag

I use a HP laptop with an old VGA monitor connected via HDMI-VGA dongle. Currently on 21.04 fresh install.

Under Settings > Display I can only see option for Built-in display. There is no option to even detect for any additional displays.

I ran xrandr and got this output:

A similar post here mentioned this as known nvidia driver issue and to try vga cable but my laptop doesn't have a VGA port.

Would this help if I could switch to Intel graphic only?

PS: In the past with Manjaro I didn't have much luck using opensource drivers instead of nvidia on this system. Is there a similar option to try for Ubuntu that might potentially overcome this issue?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
