Black Screen until boot is finished after installing Grub

cn flag

So I had Windows 10 installed and wanted to dual-boot it with Kubuntu. After installing I first tried to make it so that I could choose between Windows and Kubuntu in the Windows Bootmanager. I soon realized that the Windows Bootmanager isn't Linux aware, so I set the default Bootloader to grub using bcdedit /set "{bootmgr}" path \EFI\ubuntu\grubx64.efi. Grub indeed is present on this install as seen here. For some reason, I don't see the Grub menu or the BIOS POST. Still I know the menu is there, because after a while I boot to an OS. I can choose which OS by blindly hitting the arrow keys and enter on my keyboard. Sadly I do not have an analog display cable (I'm using HDMI) so I could try that. Does anybody have an idea what I could do?

Thanks in advance!

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
