Black lines around screen when setting resolution to 1600x900

pn flag

I'm using ubuntu 20.04.3 in a lenovo laptop, with a second monitor connected through HDMI. When i connected the second monitor, i noted that 1600x900 resolution wasn't available, so i searched a lot and found a way to add the resolution, but, when i apply the resolution doing

$ cvt 1600 900 60
$ xrandr --newmode "1600x900_60.00"  118.25  1600 1696 1856 2112  900 903 908 934 -hsync +vsync
$ xrandr --addmode HDMI-1 "1600x900_60.00"

My resolution changes, but 2 fat black lines appear to the sides of the screen. 1600x900 is the right resolution of the screen, 1920x1080 seems too tiny.

The workaround i've been using is: using it with 1920x1080 and use fractional scaling to get a 125% zoom, but this is very very laggy and annoying.

Is there a way to get rid of those black lines?

PD: also, i tried adding wider resolutions like 1680x1050 but it doesn't work, the same black lines, same width but the screen is tinier.

PD2: I can use a 1600x900 resolution on windows, so the graphic card supports the resolution.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
