Keyboard/touchpad problems on thinkbook 13s Ubuntu 22.04 & 22.10

Just installed 22.04 dual boot on brand new thinkbook 13s and the keyboard is really laggy (typed letters are slow to appear, get skipped over when typing fast or get typed repeatedly if pressed multiple times). The touchpad also starts out working but then stops working randomly. USB trackball has no problem. I have tried reinstalling and upgrading to 22.10 but still having issues. When installing I chose the option to include third-party software/drivers. Am also getting some kind of error on startup (config failed hub doesn't have any ports) not sure if it's related.

So I had upgraded to 22.10 because I saw something mentioning a kernel upgrade being a potential solution to this problem. I didn't realize that 22.10 isn't using the newest kernel, so I updated the kernel to 6.1. Had to disable secure boot to get it to boot. This appears to have fixed my problem, keyboard and touchpad are working great now.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
