Intel 11th gen graphics problem in a dual monitor mode the notebook screen freezes till I move a mouse around

cn flag

Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS on a HP Elitebook Aero G8 i5-1145G7 notebook with a second monitor

I followed this Intel guide to install the driver

Problem: Only when a second monitor connected the notebook display freezes. E.g. I scroll a web page, it will be refreshed only after mouse move.

Tried to install 5.17.0-1028-oem (originally in the guide was 5.17.0-1020-oem), still the same problem.

After I switched back to the 5.15.0-67-generic, the problem seems to be gone, although I have some window transparency issue now (it was exactly the same before Intel driver install)

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
