So I mounted a disk on /var directory

ps flag

I accidentally mounted my disk on var directory where all important files were stored, how do I unmount it? It tells me that I cannot unmount it because it is used. And it used by some system processes. I don’t know if I should or can kill them to unmount it. How do I save my files and continue to use them on /var directory? OpenSSh also stopped working, like my other snap packages. Files probably were shadowed, so I can restore them somehow

I use Ubuntu server.

How did you mount the disk? A terminal command? An fsatb-entry? If you just used a terminal command, a reboot should solve the problem.

I just used terminal command to mount the disk. *sudo mount /dev/md2* I wrote

I rebooted it. Now it looks like it’s a pure black screen

Please [edit](https://askubuntu.com/posts/1480986/edit) your question to add this relevant detail, remind to be specific and precise. I don't see a mount-point in the command, so I've to asume you added an according fstab-entry. If so, you will have to remove this entry via recovery mode or a live-USB.

Okay so I did say I mounted it on /var. that’s it. *sudo mount /dev/md2 /var* and also I decided to reinstall it completely, and try to configure raids into one lvm group if that is possible
I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
