Get resources across all namespaces by name - clusterrole vs all other resources

May be the wrong forum for such a question, but I am wondering why:

k get daemonsets.apps sysdig-agent -A

returns:

error: a resource cannot be retrieved by name across all namespaces

while

k get clusterrole sysdig-agent -A

returns:

How do I modify "job-cancel-after" of a CUPS printer?
cn flag

If I send a pdf as raw to a printer through lp, the job is sometimes (if the printer was in standby) not printed and its status is "deleted" in the CUPs WebGUI. If I check the content of the correspondending /var/spool/cups/c123456 job file, it contains the string "job-canceled-by-user".

Now I found the option job-cancel-after=0, which I think could be the reason for this problem:

Google Cloud Debian VM. Node Red stops working
ua flag

I am a Windows user trying to use Linux for my online server. I am testing a Debian VM running on the Google Cloud. There I installed Node-Red, Apache and mySQL. Every day when I am going to start my testing Node-red is down, the VM, Apache and mySQL are running but for Node-Red I have to open the terminal console and type node-red start.

Assistance welcome.

nginx proxy_pass for given user agent
cn flag

I have a website with nginx that returns index.html (a single page react app) for almost all requests. Any request for almost any path (e.g. /some/arcticle) will also return index.html, and the react app (react router) will translate the path into API calls. This is how it works, and it cannot be changed (the website is huge, it would be too much work, and I'm in no position to change this anyway) ...

SPF record with DMARC policy is not picking up the policy

We are now going through security verification, and we are using SecurityScorecard for it. One of the issues that we are still trying to fight, is the SPF record.

The details of the error are as follows:

SPF softfail record without DMARC policy detected.

Now, I could, of course, set it to HardFail, but I wanted to have the policy to quarantine first. But it seems to not work.

I'm working on storing some sensitive data stored in my salt pillar files away, into an external DB (possibly Redis).

I could not help wondering if it is possible to request the externally stored data from within the pillar files, so that I can use the benefits of globbing in pillars.

Example, in my Redis DB, I store a key_value pair: mysql_pass: superSecretPassword

UFW: block outgoing to LAN
in flag

In order to protect my local network from an attack on an self hosted server (although it's probably unnecessary), I would like to block all outgoing traffic to the LAN.

At first this seems easy, as blocking the private IP ranges should do the trick, but my ISP provides my router with a public IPv6 prefix as well. Every device in the network gets an IP from that public range (for port forwarding) ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
