Why are 1.92/3.84/7.68TB hard drives the standard?
uz flag
sam

For SSD drive, I often see specifications like 200GB, 400GB, 800GB, 1.6TB, 1.92TB, 3.84TB, 7.68TB (For example, HPE 7.68TB SATA 6G Read Intensive SFF SC Multi Vendor SSD)

Is there a hardware/architectural reason that makes it go from 1.6TB to 1.92TB, instead of having 3.2/6.4TB hard drives?

Alternative to Gmail Postfix relay

I have been using Gmail as a Postfix relay for years. Works perfectly. But it seems that on May 30th 2022 this will be disabled by Google. They will not allow us to use "less secure apps" that rely only on username/password authentication.

So I need a solution. I need either a way to continue using Gmail as a Postfix relay or I need an alternative to Gmail (free and that doesn't block my emails due  ...

Nginx reverse proxy routes subdirectory to root location proxy path on first page visit each browser session
zw flag

Short: I have two different servers behind an nginx proxy. When I try to reach one of them I will always be redirected to the other one which is located at the root location. This happens ONCE. The logs imply that Firefox/Chrome do not send a GET request to nginx when I enter the address the first time. When I enter the URL a second time in a Firefox/Chrome session I will reach the correct server.

Nginx signal process started
cn flag

I cant reach the server from nginx. It keeps telling me this weird signal process started error. I feel like I have tried everything to fix this. Been giving permission to ubuntu where the file is stored. But it comes down to nginx not being able to reach the server on pm2 as pm2 status is fine and I have no clue why.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
