Ignore directory in Tomcat TldScanner
cn flag

I run a Java-based CMS which places cached images in the WEB-INF folder, specifically in /WEB-INF/imagecache/. Unfortunately, this directory gets extremely large with lots of nested paths, and Tomcat restarts become excruciatingly slow - setting the log level for org.apache.jasper.servlet.TldScanner.level to FINE shows why, there is a ton of messages like this:

Remove orphaned Ceph volumes
cn flag

I have installed a Ceph cluster across three nodes which needed completely reinstalling after testing. It seems that on one of the nodes, some configuration data remained which Ceph is still picking up.

On boot, Ceph seems to be looking for old OSD's which no longer exist. Here is the contents of our /var/log/ceph/ceph-volume.log.

How to get DDOS+WAF protection on IP/server (not domain)
cn flag

I've used CloudFlare and it's great. But in this specific case we control the server IP address but we don't own the domain so can't use CloudFlare unfortunately because the domain owner isn't ready to migrate his DNS to CloudFlare. I would really love to have WAF+DDOS protection without changing DNS servers, is that possible? Just to be clear, the end result should be a reverse proxy (protected) IP add ...

https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Handbook:AMD64/Full/Installation#Master_boot_record_.28MBR.29_or_DOS_boot_sector While installing Gentoo, I came across a segment talking about GPT and UEFI being the more modern option, while MBR and BIOS are legacy options. Group Policy for Blocking Windows 11 Upgrade Prompts

Microsoft allows blocking the Windows 11 Update via a GPO, howver as far as it seems you have to specify both the main (e.g. Windows 10) and sub-version (e.g. 21H2) of windows, can the field for the subversion be left empty or anything else be done so it properly keeps updating the sub version but stays on Windows 10.

Odoo v.13 - Configuring a gmail alias as outgoing mail
ro flag

I am trying to configure a gmail account as outgoing mail in Odoo ERP v.13.

The email supplied by the client is an alias of the original email.

When testing, Odoo indicates error "535" (incorrect user/password) when I use the alias, but when I use the original email, the test is correct.

Is there any way to configure the alias as outgoing mail?

I do install the ingress controller via helm and the Nginx ingress controller from bitnami, I pretty sure the bitnami use the kubernetes/ingress-nginx from here https://github.com/kubernetes/ingress-nginx

i read an article that said that the default algorithm for ingress is round-robin. So i have checked the detail, but I Lil bit doubt because it shows the EWMA algorithm there.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
