Assign pod an IP address which the same as the IP range of the k8s node
cn flag

Is that possible to assign pod an IP address which the same as the IP range of my K8s node?

For example:

I have an on-premise K8s cluster that includes 3 work nodes. All nodes are using the 10.138.1.0/24 IP range as INTERNAL-IP. It is the IP address of the server NIC.

Can I use the 10.138.1.100 IP address in my pod?

I am very new to K8s, any help is appreciated!

How to backup project in OpenShift 4.6?
cn flag

In OpenShift 3.11 you could backup project using command 'oc export'. For example

oc export all -o yaml > project.yaml

In OpenShift or OKD in version 4.6 there is no option export in oc command. Oficial documentation for OpenShift 4.6 mentions only about backuping etcd data. So my question is how to backup project data, configmaps, etc in OpenShift 4.6 since there is no oc export option no more. ...

Web server, firewall and active directory: internal network connection error "DNS rebinding attack"
fr flag

I have a problem with a web server (WS) (apache on ubuntu 20.04 server), Fortinet Firewall (FF) and windows Active Directory (AD). My ISP recently upgraded my Internet connection and changed some configuration (static IP addresses and subnet). Before the upgrade, there was no problem. In particular, the AD was behind FF while the WS was external to it (machines from local networks and from external netw ...

nginx and fcgiwrap - one response per IP?
in flag

I found this comment:

There is one "feature" to watch out for in a nginx + fastcgi setup. A given PHP script will only run once for a given IP. So, if the same IP loads index.php for a website twice at the same time, index.php will be served sequentially: The second index.php load will not be processed until the first index.php load is complete.

Reduced speed for Microsoft Graph API
cn flag

Over the past two days the speed for retrieval of data through the Microsoft Graph API has diminished tremendously. Downloads that used to take above 5 to 10 seconds have now increased to 30 seconds to 1 minute.

If you could please help me out to resolve the issue, it would be of great help. Users are accessing the API mainly from Australia.

Thanks and Regards, Noel

How do I measure the read/write speed of a hard drive in a RAID5 array?
ru flag

I have created a 3-drive Linux RAID5 (md) array out of brand new Seagate Barracuda drives. I can measure the performance of the whole array by using: ioping -s 8k -c 10 -D -W ., where the current directory is backed by a RAID device (/dev/md1). Is there any way I can measure the IO performance (not only read, but also write) off the individual drives, e.g., /dev/sda1, etc, without damaging the filesystem ...

Users unable to create files/directories on NFSv3 mount, but can modify
pr flag

I've got two RHEL 6 servers, one is an NFS server (we'll call it nfs-server, say its IP is 10.1.1.1), and the other is a generic client for all intents and purposes (we'll call it nfs-client, say its IP is 10.0.0.1).

Both nfs-server and nfs-client are connected to the same centralised authentication system, so UIDs/GIDs are the same for a given user.

nfs-client is mounting an NFSv3 share from nfs-serve ...

ARP Proxy second IP of VPS to route it over Wireguard
cn flag

I have set up an ARP Proxy on my VPS. With this Setup, I can route incoming traffic on the second IP of my VPS over WireGuard. This should allow my Raspberry Pi at home to use the second Public IP.

I got this kind of working. Incoming Pings are forwarded over the WireGuard Tunnel to the Pi. But the Pi then tries to answer the Ping via eth0. Is there a way to fix this, so it sends the reply Packet ...

I have newly installed apache2 and by visiting localhost apache2 is shown to be up and running. I want the same to happen when I put app in the browser. When I do try to go visit app the browser gives a Unable to connect message.

What I have done so far

I changed my etc/hosts/ file to include app.

How to setup a Linux LAN local mail?
bq flag

I'm looking for instructions on how to create a Linux local mail server for a LAN, in the following way:

  • The Server (Ubuntu) as the SMTP server;

  • The workstations getting their mail (and sending to other clients) through the server.

Initially, only local mail (say ending with @localhost.com).

So far, I've found stuff about using the very client machine as the host, not including the server.

How to add missing property to AdminSDHolder
ng flag

I am trying to delegate permissions for a service account to modify a single extended property on active directory user accounts. The property is msDS_CloudExtensionAttribute1.

Our AD user objects have this property, and so it is easy to delegate the proper permissions at the OU level. However, protected user accounts (such as domain admins) keep having their permissions reset by the SDPropagator task.

CLIUSR certificate expiration
uy flag

I have an Exchange 2019 DAG and the CLIUSR certificate (clusinfracert) will expire soon. I have extensively researched this and there are very few resources online that address this certificate.
There is nothing to 'try', it's either manually renew it via ECP or allow it to expire and see what happens to the DAG.

Do I need to manually renew this cert or will it renew on its own?

Odd rpcbind connection

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
