Is there a better way to override all instances of a templated systemd unit?
in flag

I ran into an issue with vncserver needing to wait for my autofs-managed home directory. I have multiple users that will need VNC access. The vnc server is started by systemd.

I'm aware that I could do:

systemd edit vncserver@:1.service
systemd edit vncserver@:2.service
systemd edit vncserver@:3.service

etc and add:

[Unit]
After=autofs.service

to each, but I'd rather not be repeating myself when they a ...

When is EOL for Oracle Linux 8.5

I found the EOL information on Oracle site a bit confusing - https://www.oracle.com/us/support/library/elsp-lifetime-069338.pdf The above link shows EOL for premier support. They offer basic support as well which is less expensive than the premier support. What will the EOL for Oracle Linux 8.5 if no support package is bought from Oracle?

Set multiple URLs to return 410 apache

I've already set multiple urls to give 410 redirects

Redirect 410 "/example-url"

However I have to edit multiple files to achieve this for many others URLs, is there a more elegant solution where, for example my 3x conf files can source these URLs from a single .txt file and that way reduce the clutter inside the conf files itself?

I considered LocationMatch but these urls do not match in any case and I  ...

Pass HTTPS certificates from downstream servers through NGINX proxy to client

I have a fleet of Ubuntu edge computers that host simple web HMI servers. Many are behind dynamic IPs where port forwarding is unavailable.

So, to access them each uses autossh to create a reverse tunnel into a central cloud proxy server. I can then access each one with https://proxy.mydomain.com:6001, 6002, etc. This is working.

I now want to use NGINX so that we don't have to remember the port numbe ...

Netflow records with Destination Ports 1025,257 and Protocol as ipv6-icmp
ng flag

I have some Netflow records from a bunch of routers. The records contain IPv6 flows and there are entries with protocol as ipv6-icmp and their destination port values as 0, 1025 and 257. I know from this link that the value of 0 for ipv6-icmp in netflow indicates an echo reply. Is there any resource to find the meaning of the ipv6-icmp-1025 and ipv6-icmp-257?

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
