Xubuntu 20.04.3 LTS

Sometimes, when the system starts, a few minutes after the desktop has appeared, the System Load plugin detects a 5% CPU load that is caused by the following process and remains there all the time:

usr/lib/xorg/Xorg -core :0 -seat seat0 -auth /var/run/lightdm/root/:0 -nolisten tcp vt7 -novtswitch

The process keeps running in the background. Most of the time though, this doesn't ha ...

I really need help on this cause I'm getting crazy, and honestly very disappointed with the stability of ubuntu, because I can't have a normal video-conference with anyone and as you can imagine that is a must nowadays. I searched already a lot in google and here and found no stable solution yet.

Since some months ago, the web internal camera of the laptop simply disconnects after 25-30 seconds a ...

Keyboard layout not recognized (Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS)

I've bought this TECKNET keyboard:

Unfortunately, Ubuntu 20.04.3 does not automatically recognize the different layout, so that, for example, if I click "U" key, it gives "4"; in practice, all keys with FN values overlap the white ones, without pressing FN at all. In other threats I've ...

Can't find package 'xiphos' in Software Center or with 'apt', even though it is listed in the Package Search page
cn flag

I'm trying to install the package 'xiphos' on a fresh install of Xubuntu 21.10, but it doesn't appear in the Software Center, and 'apt-search' is unable to locate it. The 'Ubuntu -- Package Search' page shows it as being part of the 'Universe' repository, and I have made sure Universe is enabled and updated, but still nothing.

I notice, however, that the Package Search page adds the tag 'impish (21.10)(g ...

On lubuntu 21.10 icons of .jpg files no longer represent the photo itself
pl flag

On Lubuntu 21.10 running on a Mac book pro (A1425), the desktop icons representing .jpg snapshot is showing a generic icon, white mountain on a green background and not a small sized representation of the snapshot itself, as in the previous version 21.04. I did'n find any solution to this problem by myself.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
