After 20.04 upgrade my system freezes after log in unless I use Wayland
cn flag

I was running Ubuntu 18.04 on my Dell XPS. I've just upgraded 20.04.

When it boots and gets to the new log in screen, my arrow cursor is frozen and the trackpad does nothing and so the only thing I can do is reboot.

I managed to fix this by going into the boot menu and enabling secure boot. I'm not sure why this would work, but the cursor now moves.

I am now able to type my password and log in to the syst ...

sn flag

For the past few months I have been receiving alerts occasionally that there is low disk space on my boot partition on ubuntu 20.04. Usually doing a sudo apt autoremove would free up space until the next update.

But for the past few weeks the command is not freeing up any space and I have consistantly only 26mb on by boot partition, which throws errors when it comes time to update.

Both Monitors Randomly Turning Off Ubuntu 21.10
cn flag

Both my internal and external monitors will randomly shut off for no reason, but they turn back on when I move my mouse around. I have checked my settings and my auto-suspend and other options are either disabled, or within a 1 hour period instead of a 20 second period. I don't know if this might be related, but I can't use Performance Mode due to the system claiming the temperature is high, but from wh ...

I've been mucking around with this for ages now and have hit a wall. I can't find exactly what I'm looking for anywhere through searching either.

My setup is two 4K monitors. The one on the left is the internal laptop monitor that I want to increase the size of by about 10%. The one on the right is a huge 4K that can stay 1x1.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
