My Firefox windows continuously get hidden behind the top bar of ubuntu 21.10. I can get it back to normal by changing the windowsize twice (superkey+left arrow, and than superkey+upper arrow). Is there a way to get this back to normal. I have tried to reinstall firefox but that did not work.

I'm currently running ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS on a Beagle Bone Black (BBB.) I decided to use this distribution on the BBB as I was having issues installing packages(such as minicom) on the supported Debian distribution.

When I try to update ubuntu using the command sudo apt-get update I receive this error.

How do I make a Markdown table of two columns out of a list whose items alternate to each column?
cn flag

I have a long list of common abbreviations for words in periodical titles. In the list, the full word is followed by its abbreviation. For example:

  • Administration
  • Admin.
  • Applied
  • Appl.
  • Administrative
  • Administ.
  • Approximate
  • Approx.

I want to turn the list into a Markdown table, like this:

Word Abbreviation

Xrandr not doing anything on Lenovo laptop

I am running Ubuntu 21.10 on a Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ARH05, and xrandr does not work. For example xrandr -o left does not do anything. Rotating screen through the GUI settings does work. Is there a way to find out whether xrandr supports my hardware, and if not, how can I rotate my screen through the terminal? (I want a script to be able to do this.)

When PXE booting Ubuntu live, does root=/dev/ram0 mean to run the image from its RAM?
in flag

I have been able to successfully pxe boot an Ubuntu live ISO. I am wondering how to get it to run on the client machine. The behavior I am trying to eliminate is that when I shutdown the pxe server the client stops functioning. Is there a way to actually run this on the client without it being dependent on the server? Also do not want to install it on client just run it. Looking to do this for 40-50 ma ...

VPN/WIreguard forward traffic internally as well as externally

This may be more of a Linux firewall question, but the context is the Wireguard VPN setup on Ubuntu. Note, I'm barely getting acquainted with a lot of this stuff.

I have Wireguard up and running on Digital Ocean Ubuntu with Windows and Android clients using it. All seems good.

The basic firewall commands I use when it comes up is/are below: So, the 3rd line appears to route all traffic coming in on  ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
