Mount folder from WSL to Ubuntu over SSH with SSHFS
my flag

I am trying to mount a folder located inside WSL to my Ubuntu 20.4 machine using SSHFS but I always get the message that there is "No such file or directory." How can I do it?

The obvious way I tried to mount the directory was the following:

sshfs user@remotehost:"\\wsl$\Ubuntu-20.04" /home/user/Remote/

Stuck on loading initial ramdisk after kernel upgrade
ma flag

I am running ubuntu 21.10 on a lenovo yoga 7i laptop. It has an issue with the speakers that is addressed in kernel 5.14.14 so I tried upgrading both to that version and 5.15.1. When I do, trying to boot normally results in a black screen, and launching either the recovery mode or the normal one through Aditional Options in grub just shows it stuck at the "loading initial ramdisk" message. Swap some keyboard keys
us flag

I would like to swap some keys, like Home and End on my keyboard. I did it using xmodmap, but this gets reverted every time my computer goes to sleep, and some applications, e. g. VSCode don't respect it.

Is there any way to permanently swap keys and make each app detect it right?

I'm using Ubuntu 20.04.

How do I increase display saturation?
in flag

I am currently trying to increase the saturation/vibrance of my display, since the colours look pretty washed out. On Windows this could be achieved through the AMD Catalyst Control Center, but I do not have access to it in Ubuntu. I have tried using Xrandr, but no option for this appears. I want to set saturation manually, is there any tool for it? Thanks.

loss of WiFi access
br flag

In recent weeks my Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS system on an HP EliteBook 840 G2 has lost WiFi access spontaneously. This happens with both FireFox and Skype. Both applications are able to display a message about the loss of internet access.

Running Software Updater does not seem to fix the problem.

One solution is to "log out" and "log in".

What is a superior solution, please?

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
