There's a few packages I need in 20.04, but it's a massive chain and I don't really want to go through one by one pulling .deb's and installing them

I need Qt 5.15<, extra-cmake-modules 5.70< and KF5 lib 5.80<, any idea on how I can grab all the packages and their dependencies?

They are not available in Focal Fossa repositories

Filiter ghost touch screen events
us flag

With Ubuntu 20.04 Xorg, how can I ignore touch events from a screen region? I have a Dell S2240T touch screen monitor with ghost touch events along a short length of one column. If I could list pixels or a region to ignore, the touch screen may be usable. It's fine if the fix also requires mouse events from the region to be ignored. Thank you

I'm trying to merge images to PDF. Usually the following website is what I use.

Given the number of images, I'm thinking of automating the conversion with a script this time. Just wondering whether there is any Linux utility which would provide the same/similar options for conversion.

Can Ubuntu be configured to have Update cycle per app?

I use few apps infrequently and would prefer them updated at reduced frequency. Certain apps are too critical to be updated anytime and I'd like them to be updated when I am ready to handle a potential crash. In "Software & Updates", their is an option to globally configure the update cycle to daily, weekly, biweekly etc. There is no option to select or deselect certain apps. Goal is to reduce unne ...

Why are some older versions of packages not found
gr flag

I am trying to configure a build engine (Bazel) to use gcc-7. For that I needed links to all of the .deb packages needed.

One of the dependencies of gcc-7 is libatomic1 (>= 7.5.0-6ubuntu2). I realise this is "greater than or equal" but if I wanted to use the original libraries distributed with gcc-7, where could I get them?

For instance, if I do apt download --print-uris libatomic1=7.5.0-6ubuntu2

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS treating numpad as if numlock is on over SSH?

I've recently begun switching some machines from Ubuntu 18.04 LTS to 20.04 LTS and have noticed a peculiar behavior. The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
