I am unable to ping any other devices

  • When I ping duckduckgo.com I get "Temporary failure in name resolution"
  • When I ping 8.8.8.8 or another computer on the local network I get "Network is unreachable"

Automatic screen locking does not work on Kubuntu

I am running Kubuntu 20.04.

I have set screen lock to automatically kick in after 3 minutes. It does not.

What could be preventing this? Do I have to close all programs before automatic screen locking can work?

Cannot get internet working with Ubuntu Server on my lpatop

I have an HP 430 G1 laptop. It originally had Windows on it. I installed Ubuntu Desktop on it. I am able to connect to wifi. No Problem here. Ethernet port is not working.

I wanted to install ubuntu server on it and wanted to tinker around. But I cant get the wifi to work on Ubuntu server.

I have done following

  1. Configure netplan
  2. This one does not work because wlan0 i enter in config does not exist.

My bluetooth keeps turning on and off by itself. Its fluctuating. Ubuntu 20.04

Irrespective of if it is connected to any device or not it keeps fluctuating. It says No device found and bluetooth is turning off. Plugin the dongle to use Bluetooth. I have tried everything on the internet but none of the things were able to solve this.

Tap to open item doesn't work in Lubuntu 20.04 RedmiBook 15

I have installed Lubuntu 20.04 on my RedmiBook 15 and I have checked single click to activate items, but it still doesn't work (can't tap to open item). I still need to use the touchpad's left click to open items though.

How do I fix this?

Auto-snap window to top and bottom screen edge

In Windows 10 currently, and Ubuntu 16.04, resizing a window by dragging its top border to the top edge of the screen causes the window's bottom border also to snap to the bottom edge of the screen. This is quite handy.

How does one configure Ubuntu 20.04 / GNOME3 to achieve this behavior?

Wifi Driver with Dual Boot MediaTek

So I have a Zephyrus G15 with Dual Boot with Ubuntu 21.10 and Windows 10.

When I first boot up Ubuntu the drivers worked fine off the bat for my Wi-fi MEDIATEK Corp card. But windows could not connect proprely to my router. So I uninstalled and resintalled the window's drivers for my wifi card. It worked, but now when i got back to Ubuntu I can't connect to the wifi not even the ethernet.
