ASUS Vivobook does not react on power button when suspended
ng flag

i put on a dual boot with Windows 10 and Ubuntu 20.04 on my ASUS Vivobook. Unfortunately after Ubuntu enters the stand by mode it is often impossible to return to active session neither by using the keybord, mouse nor the power button. The only way to power on the ASUS again is keeping the power button pushed quite a long time. This gets me to the Boot menu, but closes my session.

Keyboard Crash When Battery Low Or Charging
jp flag

I have a Dell 7390 Laptop that causes some issues. The keyboard driver is often crashing. After shutdown and restart everything is working fine again. Restart or logout/login does not help.

It is mostly related to the change of power supply. When I'm on battery and plug in the power cable to recharge, the KB is gone. Same when battery level goes low. Hibernation is sometimes an issue but not alwa ...

How can I give Python's "keyboard" and "mouse" modules root permissions to run?
us flag

I made a simple Python script using it's keyboard and mouse modules for the purpose of saving me a few minutes of clicking and typing. Once I had done a bit of debugging, I ran the script. The disappointing part was that when run, the terminal returned: Root privileges are required to use this module. I tried running the same script using chmod in a root terminal, but that didn't work either. I am ...

Unable to Get Drag & Drop to Work on Xubuntu 20.04 with VirtualBox 6.1.30
eg flag

It's all in the title. I've tried installing from the guest additions CD by running the .run file on there. Though, most of the time, Xubuntu seems to be utterly incapable of mounting the CD in such a way that it shows it as anything other than an empty volume.

I've also tried all these commands:

sudo apt-get install build-essential linux-headers-generic
sudo apt install gcc
sudo apt-get install build ...

Log4j concern on apache2 webserver
in flag

Given all the hype with the Log4j vulnerability I would like to know if my apache2 installation is vulnerable. I searched for Log4j* files and only one came up:

/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/ansible_collections/community/windows/tests/integration/targets/win_xml/files/log4j.xml

Am I vulnerable? This appears to be a version one and I'm thinking I can rename it? Am I vulnerable?

The following error is being produced when trying to run any application through wine, including winecfg:

For some reason it's writing it twice. The audio is still being played, so if it's a game I can hear it, but it's not detecting a display. Running echo $DISPLAY gives  ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
