Is there a way to define a critical temperature in the output of the "Sensors" command?
tz flag

Is there any change that can be applied to the config files of lm-sensors to define a critical value for the temperature of the CPU in the output of the sensors command? Currently, when running the command, I get the below output:

k10temp-pci-00c3 Adapter: PCI adapter temp1: +49.2°C (high = +70.0°C)

The outcome that I'd desire when running the "sensors command" would be as below:

After recent updates, I can no longer select a keyboard layout that works for my machine.

I have a Lenovo P50 laptop with a UK keyboard. The backslash key is on the bottom left, next to the "z"; It's currently typing "<" instead of backslash.

For whatever reason, there is no longer an option to select a keyboard layout compatable with the Lenovo P50 UK keyboard --- there are several Lenovo thinkp ...

Nvidia memory junc temperatures to display?
bd flag

The new gddr6x runs much hotter than gddr6. It would be vital to be able to follow the memory junc. temperature as there is no warning for it - the card will just thermal throttle, slow down, when it hits 110C.

There has been an ongoing NVidia forum post about it since Feb 13, and NVidia has now basically implied it is a 3rd party thing. On Windows you can see these temps with for example HWinfo6 ...

amdgpu: pp_od_clk_voltage doesn't have OD_VDDC_CURVE

I try to undervolt gpu core, by executing vc command on pp_od_clk_voltage file, however OD_VDDC_CURVE doesn't exist (pp_od_clk_voltage is attached) there making the setting impossible.

I can modify gpu and memory clock no problem, though. Any ideas?

I'm using ubuntu 20.04.3, kernel 5.8.0.63 (also tried 5.11.0.40), amdgpu 21.40.1.40501-1

Wired connection detected but no internet access
co flag

I can confirm this question has been asked several times, unfortunately none of the solutions worked in my case.

I can confirm the ethernet cable works fine. I just unplug it from nearby computer running 18.04 and connect to this new computer. If I replace the cable on the old computer, everything work fine. This new computer shows wired connection detected, but I cannot access the Internet. enter image description here

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
