Is it possible to automount SMB share on a common mount point in a multi user Ubuntu 20.04 Desktop environment using NTLMv2 / login credentials?
jp flag

I wish to mount SMB share on a common mount point for all users and auto mount it when it's accessed, like when you map a network drive to a common drive letter in a Windows environment and it just uses the user's login credentials for authentication.

Kerberos is not available, so I'm limited to NTLM for authentication, also the share can't be mounted during boot, it must be mounted on demand, be ...

When I installed ubuntu 21.04 on my system the display went all to pot. It throws pixels randomly across the screen (digital snow) and occasionally puts random colors out. My monitor is an AOC 2219S-1 and my graphics card is a GEFORCE 210 Nvidia. It appears as though my drivers are incompatible with the new OS. The new OS is unable to install the recommended drivers. I can't seem to get any emails of the error in my script. I know email configuration is set up properly because I tested the following in "crontab -e" and I get emails every minute telling me "Cron Tab is Running"

why is pid number so large and what is running `file` command?

The process identifiers (pid's) are in the 800,000's after only 7 days of uptime.

The output of dump-acct indicates thousands of occurrences of file and occasionally ping commands.

Connect to openconnect server from the command line?

I tried finding a similar question and did but there's a caveat though, older questions use --no-cert-check option which is removed due to security reasons and I don't know the exact fingerprint for the server as it will change from time to time. I need to pass two inputs to the openconnect command using something like echo -e "arg1\narg2" but was not successful.

Suspend used to work flawlessly. Then it stopped. I thought the machine was dead, but was able to ssh in. Eventually I realized that if I just unplugged the monitor, and plugged it back in the screen would go live again.

Oddly, sometimes it works anyway. No idea why. The only other symptom is that my system went from 60 Hz to 29.something. I was just in settings and saw that, so I put it back.

Laptop boots to grub command line after installing to external hard drive

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
