18.04.6 update internet site access by name stopped working

After updating desktop version to 18.04.6 lts, can't access internet sites by name. Access by IP address works. Any ideas? Is this a known bug? If not, how do I report it?

I was trying to get the finger command to work on Ubuntu as I was learning Linux. Several hours later, Ubuntu does not start properly any more.

When I start Ubuntu, I get lines and lines of:

I messed with my ubuntu 20.04 and now suspend and poweroff don't work

I was trying to compile alvr and it kept complaining about cuda so I reinstalled nvidia-cuda-toolkit over and over and once with --install-suggests, I reinstalled my nvidia drivers with --install-suggests, I got the nvidia repos and installed cuda and nvidia-gds, I blacklisted the nouvaeu drivers, and a bunch of other dependencies for alvr compiling. "syntax off" in vimrc not working; other settings work as expected

I'm trying to turn syntax highlighting off by default in vim in Ubuntu 21.10. I can toggle set number and imap just fine in my vimrc, but syntax highlighting is on by default for some reason, and syntax off does absolutely nothing. I'm running an Ubuntu 18.04 in our company. I tried to implement dual DNS server in our LAN.

DNS1: 192.168.1.1 (BIND9), DNS2: 192.168.1.2 (dnsmasq)
