I updated Apache from 2.4.46 to 2.4.48 and everything else I have tested is working properly except .bin file downloading over HTTPS. My device starts to download the file but it doesn't reach even the first packet of the file and it is saying that "Peer closed connection".

Will IIS web gardens providing high availability?
au flag

I have an ASP.NET application (.NET FW 4.5) that occasionally crashes and has a long startup time due to an in-process cache. I am considering using an IIS walled garden (multiple worker processes) so that if 1 process failed, the other would pick up the load.

Can the walled garden provide this high availability? If so, what should the failed application return to IIS whilst it is building the ca ...

is there any deployment automation software that can create an encrypted vm in esxi?
cn flag

I recently felt the need to encrypt my esxi vms and tried to find some way to do it with terraform but couldn't find an option for that in the documentation so I looked into ansible , chef with no luck. So my question is that is there anyway I could create an encrypted vm or encrypt an existing one using automation other than the vmware vsphere api since that thing is a mess.

Postfix: Delete specific emails

I'm using Postfix as an email relay between a windows app that can't authenticate with gmail and gmail.

Every night between 12 and 1am this windows app sends a superfluous email that ideally I'd nuke before it gets sent.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks!

I'd like to know if it's possible to use (or grep) the content of the docker container logs and use that input for a healthcheck of a container.

Currently, I'm running matterbridge in a container. I am bridging a WhatsApp group with a Telegram group. From time to time the connection to WhatsApp breaks and i have to restart the container. The logs (docker-compose logs -f) are then flooded with thi ...

Cannot access gitlab web UI after upgrading omnibus to 14.12
in flag

I have gitlab omnibus install on a linux debian server. Yesterday, the installation was upgraded to 14.12 (from 14.11) - and now I'm unable to access the web UI. On investigation, it seems that the issue was caused by a conflict of versions of ruby and passenger. I'm using an external nginx on the server, as the tail server has other virtual hosts. I have the latest version of passenger installed - 6. ...

Is it redundant to add an extra checksum or CRC in TCP packets to make it possible for the receiver verify whether the data is same with the sent one?
cn flag

As TCP contains a checksum and the TCP/IP stack will detect broken packets, is it redundant to add an extra checksum or CRC in TCP packets to make it possible for the receiver verify whether the data is same with the sent one?

Some thought about this question:

1.It's very common seen that there is a sha256 value to verify the consistency when downloading files from internet.

2.The checksum contai ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
