Don't kill remote script when local caller process gets killed

Problem

I call a long running process via ssh. And it's necessary that this process will not be killed. The user may kill the initial process on its host and I cannot do anything about it.

How to make the remote process not be killed if the initial process gets killed?

User -> user.sh -> SSH-to-remote -> long-running.sh

It must:

  1. Output the output of the remoteprocess
  2. Exit when the remote p ...

How to fix the screen hanging at a black screen instead of booting Xubuntu?
us flag

The problem point is pretty clear. After the initial boot stuff is over and it's time to actually boot the OS, it just hangs at a black screen with a small rectangular cursor at the top-left"ish" corner.

I can't even go to BIOS setup/options or other stuff like that, which makes me question weather this question is even on-topic. I don't know.

Does the OS have to load in order to go to BIOS options? ...

Live system won't boot: error: symbol 'grub_register_command_lockdown' not found

I am trying to load Ubuntu using a USB Flash Drive (32GB) on a Compaq Presario X1000 Laptop that is running Windows 7 (unfortunately haven’t had luck updating it) and every time I try to boot it I get this error message:

error: symbol 'grub_register_command_lockdown' not found

Is there a particular version of Ubuntu I should use to avoid this?

Any help would be more than appreciated.

Is there a WM that is more customizable than gnome but you do not need to configure from the scratch?
za flag

Last weekend I installed awesome WM and I really think this name is a fair one, this WM is really awesome. I liked how it felt efficient and customizable. I did not do anything special but I had the feeling I could be very efficient using it. After some hours tweaking it (theming, some keyboard shortcuts and things like this), I found out that many "basic" things was not provided out of the box:

    The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
