How do I use a proxy which contains a user and password?
cn flag

I wanted to set a proxy on my machine, However, the network proxy option in settings doesn't have a user:pass field, which is required to get my SOCK5 proxy working. This is my first time using Linux so I'm not very thorough with the terminal.

How to mount a hibernated Windows drive
in flag

I was hoping I'd never need it, but I kept a Ubuntu boot USB stick just in case, and the case has arrived. This morning, my Windows 10 system would not boot, the SSD apparently no longer recognized. So I booted the system using my stick. Of course the Ubuntu version is a little outdated (it wants to install 16.04.2 LTS), but I was hoping I'd still be able to rescue some files from the SSD. (base) ➜ ~ ping 8.8.8.8
ping: connect: Network is unreachable

What's more, whenever I plug the cable in, the connection in the tray s ...

How to achieve (automated) simultaneous outputs with Pipewire?
ls flag

I'd like to have my system automatically output to all available sound devices (preferably using a sink in Pulseaudio Volume Control). This was possible when using Pulseaudio alone.

Is it possible with Pipewire? If yes, how would you achieve this?
Is it possible to set this up to be available automatically?

/boot/firmware still on SD Card after SSD upgrade on Raspberry Pi 4
in flag

I'm using a Raspberry Pi 4 (4G) and Ubuntu 21.04 to run a Foundry VTT server.

I recently upgraded the storage from an SD Card to an SSD. As long as the SD Card is still in, I can boot. The /boot/firmware folder is mounted on the SD Card, while / is mounted on the SSD. Everything seems to be working. If I remove the SD Card the system does not boot.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
