TLG

I recently set up a dual boot with Windows 10 and Ubuntu. Ubuntu has a small partition, and my original plan was to store everything I want to download on Ubuntu in the much larger shared partition. However, trying to move a file from /home/Downloads to /Users/me/Downloads does nothing. Therefore, I want to be able to read and write to folders like the Downloads and Documents folders Windows use while o ...

Network bonding USB and internal NIC's?

Is it possible to bond 2 identical onboard NIC's and a USB network adapter?

Currently I have the onboard networks bonded together in mode 6 no issue, HOWEVER if I try to add the USB network adapter to it, the bond completely fails.

They are all 10/100/1000 adapters, all with same settings.

What I am aiming for is the two adapters onboard are well known to fail on this unit so I added the USB interface  ...

help, I think I accidentally uninstalled my graphics drivers while installing Ubuntu, now I am unable to switch back 1920*1080p
pw flag

I decided to switch from windows to Ubuntu and installed Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.

After the installation was complete my display switched to 1028 * 720 p and it looks really irritating to work with it.

I tried xrandr and tried getting the option of 1920 * 1080 p but after clicking that option my screen goes black and I have to restart my PC from the power switch

Any kind of help would really be appreciated

grub-common vs. grub2-common

What is the difference between these two packages?

I ask because this stems off of a recent issue other users seem to be having with grub and it breaking after each time windows in accessed (here is an example of such a question: Failed to open \EFI\UBUNTU\*garbled* - Invalid parameter).

I ran sudo update-grub and it fixed the problem for the most part. The errors I get still are:

Backing up a simple Ubuntu server

I have a small server set up, and I'm quite new at this, so it took me around two days to get it all up and running the way I want. Now hopefully, I won't have any reason to make any changes to this thing for the foreseeable future, and I can just let it run. The reason I had to do this in the first place is because the last server we had died, and we lost all the configurations for it. So what I'm tryi ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
