Does anyone know how to connect the scanner Ricoh P311 to SANE on Ubuntu Server? I have tried SANE with the default settings, tried Airscan on SANE, and also went to Ricoh's official website but could't find drivers for Ubuntu/SANE! When i ping to the Scanner's IP, i get 0% package loss!

Ubuntu 22.04 - Dell WD22TB4 dock. Intel Xe graphics on 12h Gen i5 NUC.

Ubuntu only seems to initialize the thunderbolt display output if an HDMI output is connected at some point.

  1. Boot with just Thunderbolt connected -> No output
  2. Boot with just Thunderbolt connected, connect HDMI once booted -> Output, can then disconnect HDMI

Hotplugging the TB4 dock instead of connecting an HDMI cable doesn't ...

I have found similar questions but they all included a frozen system and this is not my case.

As per title, my issue is that I get a bunch of errors and then a black screen after upgrading Ubuntu from 20.04 to 22.04 on my server. This doesn't happen on a physical screen, as I use the IDRAC integrated screen viewer.

Ubuntu 20.04 crashed and fails to boot "failed to start v4l2-relay daemon"

As above, the laptop froze and then rebooted but now this message flashes up for a split second and I'm left with a blinking cursor.

I've tried searching for fixes but very little results even mention the v412-relay nevermind fixing issues with it. What should I be looking at doing to get this to boot again?

I am a very new Linux user. I have a fresh install of Ubuntu. Yesterday I plugged an OEM Bluetooth dongle to connect my hands free earphones (they worked perfectly at first). But after an hour or two they started having some issues (disconnecting and reconnecting on their own, bad sound quality etc). Ubuntu very slow despite high specs PC

I have received a PC 2 days ago and I did a fresh installation of Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS, however, the system feels pretty slow given the PC specs. Settings take around a second to load, Firefox more, etc... Here are my specs:

1TB SSD (NVME), the disk utility benchmark showed 3.1 GB/s read speed. Moreover I have only filled around 5% of the disk.

CPU: Intel® Core™ i9-9900 CPU @ 3.10GHz

Can‘t access Windows after deleting Ubuntu partitions

I wanted to get rid of my dual boot system and deleted the partitions, where Ubuntu was on. So I deleted partition 5,6,7 and extended the OS(C.:). I left partition 1 (EFI System Partion). enter image description here

Ubuntu 22.04 - Autostart VirtualBox 7.0

I'm trying to start VM boxes automatically on boot. A quick search yield 2 main solutions:

  • using Stat-up Application (tutorial). No luck.

  • using systemd service ( tutorial). Although when service was started using command-line, after boot - nothing happened.

and many more references on-line.

Appreciate any help for a working solution.

My server uses Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. I have a very restricted firewall (UFW), that is, I have run these commands:

sudo ufw default deny outgoing
sudo ufw default deny incoming

But, I would like my system to be updated so, I need to enable only the necessary connections, that is, I need to allow the apt-get to connect to Ubuntu servers. Which are these servers and which are their IP addresses?

I have been trying to diagnose the cause of lagging, stuttering videos and poor video call performance for quite some time now.

In the past, everything worked smoothly. I can't recall when it started to lag, and therefore I can't determine the exact (if there even exists a single cause) critical update.
